In last week’s blog post we talked about the power of collaborating with charitable organizations. This is something that we are passionate about here at The Storyteller Agency, and we have been humbled by the collaboration projects that we have worked on with some of the phenomenal charities and non-profit organizations in this area. When you combine the concept of storytelling with a cause that you are passionate about, you have the power to tell an amazing story that will truly make a difference, in the community and in the lives of others. We are passionate about the work that we do with the non-profit organizations in this area, and today we want to share that side of our story with you, as well as highlight some organizations that have been a source of inspiration for us.
Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation
This organization truly leaves us speechless at times. The difference that they make in our community, the countless lives that they touch, the dedication to helping others – we simply can’t say enough. We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with this amazing organization, which has provided us a window into the local children’s charities that they so tirelessly support. Our role in this collaboration with the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is to help tell the stories of these charities and the children who benefit from their mission. Talk about inspiring work, folks – we have been deeply touched by this partnership.
There aren't enough words allowed in a single blog post to talk about each of the 14 charities that are supported by DWCAF, but we cherished our visits to each and every one, and look forward to sharing more of their stories in 2016.
Children in Crisis, Inc.
This is just one of the organizations that we have had the pleasure of experiencing through our partnership with the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, and wow, talk about a humbling experience. This local organization prides itself in “Providing Homes and Establishing Hope” for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of our community. We were deeply touched by our time spent with the Children in Crisis organization, and we would encourage others to take advantage of any opportunity to be even the smallest part of these children’s story.
Alaqua Animal Refuge
Let’s start by giving you a little fun fact about our team here at The Storyteller Agency – we love animals and we have a particular weakness for rescue dogs. Have you ever seen an episode of our video series, Office Dogs? Stay tuned for some new episodes to come out in 2016!
Ok, so now that you know about our passion for animal rescue, our collaboration projects with Alaqua Animal Refuge will make perfect sense. Are you kidding me? We jumped at the chance to work with this amazing organization. The story behind Alaqua Animal Refuge and its mission is one that we pride ourselves in being a part of, and any day that we have spent working at the refuge has never felt like work at all.
This is an organization that operates entirely on funds that are raised through donations and fund raising events in our community, and yet Alaqua, with the help of owner, Laurie Hood, and her amazing team of staff members and big-hearted volunteers, has managed to help find homes for more than 11,000 animals. Each animal at the refuge has a story to tell and Alaqua is committed to making sure that they all have a happy ending – even if that happy ending is providing unconditional love in the final days of an animal’s life.
